The Human Rights Film Festival Berlin uses the means of film and personal conversations to remind people of the importance of human rights and the ways in which they are enforced. For this very reason we have decided to let the festival take place in 2020 despite Covid-19.

In order to react to the special situation, however, we have decided this year on a hybrid version of the festival. This year, for the first time, you can watch all the films in the cinema as well as on our streaming platform. Furthermore, we will broadcast all Q&As as well as our complete conference program live. It goes without saying that all necessary hygiene measures are taken in the cinemas and the festival center to create a safe and wonderful experience. We kindly ask all our visitors to bring their masks and observe the rules of distance.

The newly founded Human Rights Film Forum for interconnected and transdisciplinary work sets new accents.

International actors* will spend seven days in conferences, labs and workshops to explore the question of how storytelling can be used to develop convincing formats on a wide range of topics that inspire and mobilize people.
