We are very pleased to award three prizes this year. For the fifth time, the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation, together with the festival, is awarding the Willy Brandt Documentary Film Prize for Freedom and Human Rights to a film for its outstanding artistic and content-related achievements.
We are very pleased to be able to present an audience award. Furthermore, we are delighted to announce that this year, for the first time, we will be presenting a Youth Jury Prize. More information about the Youth Jury can be found here.
The award ceremony will take place on October 20. Peter Brandt, member of the Board of Trustees of the Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation, will give the laudatio and present the prize.

Ondřej Kamenický ist Direktor des internationalen Dokumentarfilmfestivals für Menschenrechte "One World". One World gilt als das größte Human Rights-Dokumentarfilmfestival der Welt. Es findet in Prag und in mehr als 30 Städten der Tschechischen Republik statt. Das Festival zeigt Dokumentarfilme zu Menschenrechts-, Sozial-, Politik-, Umwelt- und Medienthemen und umfasst Q&As, Podiumsdiskussionen, Virtual Reality-Events, sozialwirksame Projekte, Schulvorführungen und die East Doc Platform für die Filmindustrie.

Khadidja ist ehemalige Journalistin, Präsidentin des IMPACT SOCIAL CLUB und Mitglied des Beirats der Global Impact Producer's Alliance der Doc Society. Sie unterstützt Filmschaffende und Studierende durch internationale Fortbildungen (Dixit - Le film français, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg etc.). Khadidja engagiert sich als Podiumsteilnehmerin, Jurymitglied und konzipiert Impact Labs für renommierte Filmfestivals (BERLINALE, FIFDH, DOK LEIPZIG, MOVIES THAT MATTER etc.). Zudem hat sie einflussreiche Kampagnen für preisgekrönte Dokumentarfilme entwickelt.

Mudamba widmet sich seit 10 Jahren mit Docubox-EADFF der Entwicklung qualitativer Filmformate und kreativer Freiheiten in Ostafrika. Zuvor war er als Theaterdirektor in der Region tätig, wo er am Institute of Performing Artists Ltd und am East African Theatre Institute maßgeblich an der Umgestaltung des Theaters beteiligt war. Für den ihn steht die dringende Notwendigkeit der Finanzierung kreativer Prozesse und Freiheiten in Ostafrika im Mittelpunkt. Nach einigen Jahren als Finanzdirektor der Kenya Films & Television Professional Association ist er nun Mitglied der kenianischen CEWG, die sich für bessere politische Rahmenbedingungen einsetzt, um das Wachstum des Kreativsektors zu fördern.

Malte Mau leitet die Presse- & Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Bundeskanzler-Willy-Brandt-Stiftung und der drei Standorte in Berlin, Lübeck und Unkel. Seit rund 20 Jahren arbeitet er in der Politik- und Kulturkommunikation, unter anderem als Kommunikationsverantwortlicher bei Berlinale Talents und der American Academy in Berlin.
Leslie Thomas
Leslie Thomas is a co-founder of MIRA Studio, human rights advocate, feature narrative and documentary director, multi-media artist, and architect. Leslie is also the founder of ART WORKS Projects and an Emmy-award winning art director. She has designed and led-impact campaigns on grave human rights and social justice issues across multiple continents reaching both very large grassroots audiences and high-level policy leaders with the goal of making change. Recent and in-progress films include The Prosecutors, The Sharp Edge of Peace, I Londo Awe, Untitled Syria Justice Film, and Thursday’s Child.
