Six Iranian women speak about life in a country that demands their silence. Six women who courageously defy the written and unwritten restrictions on freedom of expression in Iran. An artist who wants to draw female characters and perform plays. A teacher who speaks freely to young women and educates them about taboo subjects like sexuality. A street musician who sings and dances in public. Some have stayed in the country, others have escaped into exile. They all know what they will face if they don’t bow down to censorship: dismissal, harassment and arrest. But none of them are willing to accept rules that oppress women in their quest for freedom.
