Hunger Ward - 6 Years War in Yemen

WOMEN FIGHTING HUNGER
AT THE FRONTLINES OF A FORGOTTEN WAR

Yemen is experiencing the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. A war has been raging for almost 6 years, with dramatic consequences for the civilian population. 21 million people are dependent on humanitarian aid, or about 66 percent of the population. To mark the anniversary on March 26, the Human Rights Film Festival Berlin is partnering with Aktion gegen den Hunger and the Centre for Humanitarian Action to screen the powerful documentary "Hunger Ward" and hosted a panel discussion on the current situation in Yemen.

The film takes an unflinching look at the human-caused famine in Yemen. The documentary portrays the work of Dr. Aida Alsadeeq and Nurse Mekkia Mahdi, who try to save the lives of starving children in one of the worst humanitarian crises of our time. It relentlessly shows us, the effects of a forgotten war.
