Rakesh and Ganesh are so close, they are like brothers. They are both fishermen from Mumbai’s Indigenous Koli community, but they have taken different paths. Rakesh, a recent proud father, fishes the shallow waters of the bay in the traditional way on the family’s old boat and hauls in the catch by hand, just as his father once did. Ganesh, on the other hand, takes a motorboat to deeper waters and uses modern – and sometimes illegal – technology. But fish stocks are dwindling due to pollution and invasive species. Rakesh and Ganesh struggle to make ends meet for their young families, and their brotherhood is put to the test.
