SOS Humanity
As a civilian maritime rescue organisation, SOS Humanity has rescued over 39,500 people in distress at sea over the past 10 years – including more than 10,000 women and children. At sea, they rescue people in distress and provide initial medical and psychological care on board. On land, they advocate for the rights of people seeking protection and carry out awareness-raising and mobilisation work. Their work would not be possible without the support of civil society and is funded by donations.
Every donation helps to rescue people from distress as they flee across the Mediterranean.

Amnesty International

Amnesty International
This petition from Amnesty International Germany is directed against xenophobia, racism and hate speech, and calls for human rights to apply equally to all people – regardless of their origin, religion or immigration status. It calls on politicians, public authorities and society to take a firm stand against hatred and discrimination and to work towards an open, fair and inclusive society.

SOS Humanity
SOS Humanity is a German maritime rescue organisation that uses its ship, the Humanity 1, to rescue people who find themselves in distress whilst fleeing across the Mediterranean. Since 2014, at least 20,200 people have lost their lives on this dangerous crossing – whilst the EU is planning new border closure measures instead of a sea rescue programme. With the petition “SOS in the Mediterranean”, SOS Humanity is calling on the German government to honour its promise.
