The videos are fake, but their impact is all too real. When college student Taylor discovers that pornographic videos of her are circulating on the internet, her world is turned upside down. She sees images that she doesn’t recognise but that seem deceptively real – created with the help of artificial intelligence. Taylor is not alone in this: 90 per cent of deepfakes are pornographic content created without the consent of the women depicted. With little help from the police, Taylor joins forces with other victims. Together, they try to find the perpetrator, uncovering a disturbing parallel society where misogyny is rife. And Taylor discovers that the perpetrator is closer than she thought.
