The political processes within the EU Parliament are based on compromises made between the twenty-seven member states and their governments. Lobbying and concrete economic interests play a major role. The Greens’ Heidi Hautala (FIN), left-wing Manon Aubry (FRA) and leading Social Democrat Lara Wolters (NLD) are passionately fighting for a sustainable directive that will require companies to exercise due diligence regarding their supply chains. Fanny Tondre accompanies these three committed politicians, giving insights into the exciting negotiation process that unfolds within the committees and between the political groups in the EU Parliament.
- Followed by Q&A: All Screenings will be followed by a Q&A with Co-Author Yann Ollivier and two experts on supply chain law: On 8 Oct, Cornelia Heydenreich and on 9 Oct Finn Schuft will join us. Both work for Germanwatch. Germanwatch is a very active long term member of the „Initiative Lieferkette".
